CPO Ted Ruoff

After WWII ended Ted Ruoff stayed in the Navy and made Chief Petty Officer. He eventually made Chief Warrant Officer and retired from the Navy in 1959 as a CWO2. This was a commisioned rank which reportedly caused his wife Rita Flaherty, herself a Yeoman in the US Coast Guard Women's Reserve (SPARS) to remark, "Get that gold braid out of this house".
