Elmer Troutner was born 14 March 1861 and died 28 March 1943. He married Jennie June Powell on 5 February 1889. His ancestors were Andrew, Jacob, Jeremiah, George Michael and Basil Johannas Troutner. His children were Inez Troutner (Farthing) (1890-1976), Arthur (1893-1985) Florence Troutner (Farthing)1899-1986), Kenneth (1903-2002), Mary (Irene) Troutner (Clemens) (1904-1980), and Lowell (1909-1997). Between the middle 1880's until 1896 Elmer worked for the Ohio Oil Company as foreman on a oil storage tank roofing crew. For the rest of his life he farmed in Hancock County, Ohio.
